What is Masor® chronic pain treatment?

The treatment uses the MASOR® Magnetic Biological Stimulator device for the three sessions.  This is the minimum standard treatment protocol and used in conjunction with the pain evaluation tool.  Each pain treatment session lasts for approximately one hour and is usually scheduled at the same time each day.  Relaxation is recommended but if you do engage in activity, we recommend restricting it to light.

Is this PEMFT treatment invasive?

No. The treatment is topical and requires that you wear comfortable clothing.

What results should I expect from this Masor® pain treatment?

In our medically published research, ninety-three percent of subjects had positive results. Ten percent (12 of 128 subjects) in our research reported total pain relief after their first chronic pain treatment.  This is the primary reason why we test every day before treatment.  Not only does it give an indication of the treatment efficacy, but, gives you the re-assurance of your wise decision to come for our unique PEMFT treatment.

Do medications have an effect on the efficacy of Masor® pain treatment?

Certain medications may have an effect on the evaluation tool results. In anecdotal clinical cases, the need for some medications has been reduced or eliminated.

Why does Cottage Pain Clinic require the three day pain treatment package?

This protocol follows our research and is found to be the most effective.  In the twenty-one years since the publication of the peer reviewed Acta Medica paper, we have no reason to change the application schedule.  When a client requires follow up treatment, the desired response is usually experienced after one application.  Additional treatment packages are also available in those cases that may have special circumstances.

Is this Cottage Pain Clinic treatment available through a medical clinic or professional spa?

Cottage Pain Clinic is a mobile service that provides chronic pain treatment in the Muskoka Parry Sound area.

Will there be any additional treatment needed?

In our medically published research paper, only five percent of subjects required ongoing treatment for their chronic pain.  Most responded within the three sessions and on follow up, reported continued improvement.  Options and packages are available in this case.

What methods does Cottage Pain Clinic use to evaluate chronic pain?

Before the first treatment, Cottage Pain Clinic administers a modified McGill-Melzack Pain and Present Pain Intensity, (PPI) Questionnaire. This method of analyzing a client's reported pain, developed by Ron Melzack PhD. at McGill University, has become a world standard in the assessment of pain during research.  The use of this modified assessment tool allows the consistent ongoing evaluation of a particular pain treatment.

Are there known side effects or adverse reactions involved with the Masor® chronic pain treatment?

Masor® has a twenty-eight year pain treatment experience with no contraindications being reported.  This Canadian medical device is unique, patented in CAN and US.  It is still the only one of its kind in the field of pulsed electromagnetic field therapy or PEMFT.  Masor® has been notified with Health and Welfare Canada* since its inception. *Health Canada
